MY FAVORITES…People always what is my favorite nutcracker, and I always answer that I have many favorites--- Maybe it is the season, or the weather, or the mood I’m in, but here is my list for today……..
Favorite “Put you in the Holiday Mood” nutcracker---The Christmas Tree, created by Christian Ulbricht especially for the museum, each frond individually carved.

Favorite “What is it made of” nutcracker…This screw is made of Narwal tusk. Known as the “Unicorn of the Sea”, the Narwal has a long, fearsome tusk that grows through his lip.

Favorite of Children’s Nutcracker Hunts…This delightful Clown with Balloons was designed and painted by Susan Milford, and turned by her husband Walt.

Favorite of Youth’s Nutcracker Hunts…This Lizard, carved in Poland, is resting on a stick waiting for an insect to enter his domain.

Favorite of Adult Nutcracker Hunts…A Duck going Hunting…designed in America, produced in China. This is hunting season and the duck is getting even!

Favorite “Scary” nutcracker….Ooooh, yes, this guy’s eyes seem to follow you as you walk along…creepy!!!

Favorite “Makes you Laugh” nutcracker….The Little General from Sonneberg makes me laugh every time I pass by.

Favorite “Really Cracks a Nut” nutcracker….This Toy Soldier by Ulbricht’s Seiffener Nussknackerhaus can actually be used to crack a nut for you.

Favorite “Now that is just plain Wacky” nutcracker…This bug-eyed, mischievous frog was crafted by one of our talented local students for our “Make Your own Nutcracker” contest.

Favorite of “George’s Favorites”…”Karl” of course---the 6 foot tall happy Bavarian, carved by Karl Rappl of Oberammergau and was always introduced by George as his favorite beer drinking partner!

So what is your favorite nutcracker in the museum????
