Traveling Museum Exhibits

The Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum has prepared a slideshow presentation featuring nutcrackers displayed in the museum. Running dialogue by the Nutcracker Lady makes for an entertaining program for various groups.

Another slide-show presentation is geared to elementary school classes and explains the methods the nutcrackers use to crack the nuts -- percussion, lever, and screw mechanisms. This presentation also shows a variety of fun designs like a kangaroo, a dinosaur, and a shoe. Even the characters from "Wizard of Oz" and Yoda and Darth Vader from "Star Wars" are shown.

Traveling displays have been prepared and sent to several states including Tennessee, Illinois and Minnesota, and as far away as Hong Kong and Shanghai. Usually 50-60 nutcrackers of various ages, styles, and materials are gathered together along with information about each one that can be used in the displays. These displays are created especially for the group contracting with the museum, and pictures are always sent verifying the specimens.

We do not charge for these presentations and traveling displays, but groups are expected to pay for shipping, insurance and other expenses, and a significant donation to the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum, a 501(c)3 corporation, is appreciated.

Depending on the date and time, the Nutcracker Lady may be available for exhibits and/or speaking engagements as demonstrated in the video below.

Here are pictures of nutcrackers being packed and readied for shipping to the Historic Odessa Foundation of Odessa Delaware for display throughout November and December.
