This magnificent carved nutcracker is now on display in the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum.  It is from the 19th century, and carved in France or Italy.  Looking at it, one would think it was just a lovely carving, but in reality it is a working nutcracker.  Note how the handle forms part of the jacket.  Once the nut is cracked, the pieces fall into the basket.  This is just one of many rare nutcrackers to be found in the museum.
