The museum displays 15 different nutcracker suites from various makers and we have chosen 7 more to show. The first nutcracker suite was put together by Kenneth Althoff of Midwest importers from 2 factories: Vero of Seiffen and Hodrewa of Rothenthal during the time that the Erzgebirge was occupied by Russia. |
Christian Ulbricht made the next Nutcracker Suite in his factory in Lauingen in 1991. This is the Nutcracker Lady’s favorite grouping. |
Gunter Ulbricht (no relation to Christian Ulbricht) produced a nutcracker suite in his workshops at Muggendorf, north of Nurnberg. |
American folk artist Mary Myers of Virginia carved a charming nutcracker suite and included the Sugar Plum Fairy. | |||
Christian Ulbrichts Seiffener Nussknackerhaus has produced several sets over the years, this being the favorite of collectors. |
American artist, Nanette Hilton, designed this delightful Nutcracker Suite for Kurt Adler of New York who had it produced in China. |
This elegantly designed from Russia actually has just one nutcracker—the Prince—but has been chosen because, in the original story, the Mouse King had 7 heads. |
