The Art &
Character of NUTCRACKERS

“The Art & Character
of Nutcrackers” by Arlene Wagner and published by Collector’s
Press of Portland, Oregon, was one of three finalist for the
prestigious Independent Publisher Book of the Year Awards in the
Coffee Table Book category. This honor recognizes excellence in
independent publishing as juried by librarians, booksellers, and
publishing professionals.
The book won bronze
for ForeWord Magazine’s Book of the Year Awards in the Art
category. These awards, established in 1998, are one of the most
prestigious affirmation of work coming from the independent press
community. There were 1540 book submissions, and narrowed to 604
finalists, with 13 chosen in the Art category. The judges’
decisions take into consideration editorial excellence,
professional production, narrative originality and author
credentials.
Both of these awards
were announced at the May, 2006 BookExpo America held in the
Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
